AADR Fund Description

The AdvisorShares Dorsey Wright ADR ETF is an actively managed ETF that aims to outperform the international market by holding ADRs with high Relative Strength.

AADR Factset Analytics Insight

AADR is an actively managed portfolio of international stocks chosen for their strong price momentum (Relative Strength, as defined by sub-advisor Dorsey Wright and Associates), and gains its exposure to these stocks via ADRs. The fund is highly concentrated compared to our benchmark, which has several thousand holdings. Handpicking a few dozen names from this universe will necessarily result in a poor Fit score. AADR is very pricey and can be expensive to trade, so make sure its strategy is worth its cost. Large institutions in particular may face significant trading hurdles due to an illiquid basket.
AADR changed its name, strategy, and sub-advisor in August 2016. The fund previously sought out ADRs with growth characteristics. Today, the funds prospectus notes that the sub-advisor does not consider company fundamentals in its analysis. Though the sub-advisor aims for diversified sector and industry exposure, it does not target a particular allocation between developed and emerging markets.
