BKC Factset Analytics Insight
BKC is actively managed to capture total return from global companies that generate revenue from the blockchain ecosystem. Stocks selected include companies that mine, trade or promote the adoption of cryptocurrencies and those that develop or utilize blockchain technology. BKC can invest indirectly in bitcoin through the Bitcoin Investment Trust (GBTC) for up to 15% of the portfolio. Other than GBTC, fund does not invest directly or indirectly in cryptocurrencies, initial coin offerings (ICOs), or cryptocurrency tokens.
BKC is a high conviction portfolio, with a large portion of the exposure coming from the top 10 holdings, and tilts towards small- and midcap companies. To comply with US tax laws and RIC requirements, the fund may gain part of its exposure by investing up to 25% of the portfolio in a wholly owned Cayman Islands subsidiary. The active management approach may allow for the fund to be more nimble in an evolving investment space, but investors will pay up for that flexibility, in terms of an expense ratio.
