DIVYReality Shares DIVS ETF
DIVY Fund Description
DIVY aims to deliver exposure to the dividend growth of stocks trading in the US, Europe and Japan. The actively managed fund relies on derivatives, and typically holds no stocks.
DIVY Factset Analytics Insight
DIVY aims for pure-play exposure to dividend growth. It typically holds no stocks, so it has little or no exposure to the movement of stock prices. Nor does the fund access actual dividends, making DIVY a total-return vehicle, not an income vehicle. Instead, it aims for steady growth from increasing dividends without the volatility of stock price movements by relying on offsetting derivatives—primarily S&P dividend swaps. The fund gains only when actual dividend growth exceeds the expected dividend growth baked into its swaps positions, as the prospectus makes clear. The issuer, Reality Shares, stakes this offering on its evidence showing little to no dividend growth priced into the derivatives. Expect low correlation to equity and other asset classes, but the fund does not aim for all-weather positive returns.
