FNDX Fund Description

The Schwab Fundamental US Large Company Index ETF tracks a fundamentally selected and weighted Russell index based on sales, cash flow and dividends/buybacks.

FNDX Factset Analytics Insight

FNDX uses fundamental screens (sales, cash flow, dividends, and buybacks) to scope out large companies from the broader Russell 3000 Index, assessing company size using these metrics rather than market-cap. It then weights them accordingly. The resulting portfolio draws from a far larger selection universe than our large-cap benchmark, which introduces a mid-cap bias in the portfolio. In terms of Tradability, FNDX enjoys both easy on-screen liquidity and its methodology lends itself to excellent block liquidity as well. Its expense ratio is a little high, as FNDX competes with some very cheap funds, but it remains competitive within its segment and offers close tracking of its index.

FNDX’s underlying index changed its name from Russell Fundamental U.S. Large Company Index to Russell RAFI U.S. Large Company Index on 12/1/2016. There are no changes in index methodology and the resulting exposure.
