MAGA Fund Description

The Point Bridge GOP Stock Tracker ETF tracks an index of US large-cap companies whose employees and political action committees are highly supportive of Republican candidates.

MAGA Factset Analytics Insight

A unique twist for principles-based investing, MAGA screens the components of the S&P 500 Index for companies whose political campaign contributions (from employees and political action committees) meet a minimum threshold over the previous four years, according to data from the Federal Election Commission. Eligible companies are then ranked by a proprietary process based primarily on the total net dollars and the net percentage of dollars given to Republican Party candidates versus Democratic Party candidates for the same offices. The top 150 companies are included in the index. The index is equally weighted and rebalanced semi-annually. The fund is pricey for narrow US large-cap exposure but may be worth it to investors who want to express a political view.
