NFRAFlexShares STOXX Global Broad Infrastructure Index Fund
NFRA Fund Description
The FlexShares STOXX Global Broad Infrastructure ETF tracks a market-cap-weighted index of global infrastructure companies from developed as well as emerging markets.
NFRA Factset Analytics Insight
NFRA covers the Global Infrastructure segment by tracking a cap-weighted index of infrastructure companies. The fund's index pulls from the STOXX Global Total Market Index which is dominated by developed markets despite its inclusion of emerging economies. The index provider has targeted 19 eligible industries, and requires that a firm generate at least half of its revenues from these activities. Infrastructure can be defined a number of ways and while our benchmark leans heavily on utilities firms, NFRA spreads its exposure more equally between utilities, industrials, and telecommunications firms—the latter of which are excluded by our benchmark. It's a solid take on the segment, with broader exposure and lower risk than our infrastructure benchmark. NFRA trades well, and most retail traders will find small spreads and ample liquidity. Likewise, larger investors will find they can deal in bulk without causing underlying prices to move. NFRA charges a reasonable fee for its unique take on the segment, and tends to lag its index by significantly less than its fee.
