YESR Factset Analytics Insight
YESR tracks an index of US-listed closed-end funds that hold floating-rate senior loans. The universe of floating-rate, senior loan CEFs is rather small. Funds that meet basic size and liquidity requirements are ranked based on four weighted factors: distribution rate (40%), premium/discount rate (40%), total expense ratio (10%), and liquidity (10%). Holdings are then weighted according to the combined ranking, with individual funds capped at 15%. In addition, funds that have a public float of less than $150 million will be capped at an aggregate 30% weighting. The index is rebalanced annually.
Note that YESR’s reported expense ratio includes the pass-through expenses of its constituent funds. Prior to Aug 29, 2017, the fund provided a drastically different investment strategy and exposure under the name Amplify YieldShares Prime 5 Dividend ETF, with the ticker PFV.
