RBIN Fund Description

The Nationwide Risk-Based International Equity ETF tracks an index of large-cap stocks from developed countries, excluding US and Canada, that are selected and weighted for lower portfolio risk.

RBIN Factset Analytics Insight

RBIN aims for lower portfolio risk. Eligible large-cap companies are evaluated for marginal risk contribution, which is determined by each stocks volatility and correlation to the pool of other eligible stocks during the last year. Half of these companies with the lowest calculated risk are then selected for inclusion. Marginal risk contribution is recalculated for the selected securities, this time using correlation to other selected companies. Using this metric, all included securities are weighted so that each contributes an equal amount of marginal risk to the index. The fund seeks an increased Sharpe ratio and a lower maximum drawdown during market declines. RBIN is competitively priced for its specific exposure and methodology, though market-weighted, total-market alternatives are available for a fraction of the cost.
