Vanguard Group has introduced a Total International Stock Index Fund. This fund shall track the MSCI All Country World ex-USA Investable Market Index. The fund covers developed markets like Canada and Europe as well as emerging markets like India, China and other Asian markets.
Bulk of the fund’s exposure, more than 40%, is directed to Europe. Emerging markets and Asia Pacific have almost equal exposure of about 25% each with 7.60% funds going into North American market.
The Chief Investment Officer described the fund as another option for investors to have a balanced and diversified portfolio through low cost ETFs. The fund can be used to round off one’s investment portfolio by using it together with Vanguard Total Stock Market and Total Bond Market ETFs.
