REET
iShares Global REIT ETFREET Fund Description
REET tracks a global, market-cap-weighted index of firms involved in the ownership and operation of real estate.
REET Factset Analytics Insight
REET charges an aggressively low fee that significantly undercuts RWO—its only plain-vanilla competitor. With that kind of value proposition, it’s easy to see why REET has grown into one of the segment’s most popular funds. A US-centric fund for the space, over half of REET's portfolio weight is in the US. It also makes a number of smaller country and industry tilts, so the fund doesn't look a whole lot like our neutral benchmark. Trading REET is fairly straightforward thanks to adequate daily volume and modest spreads, while underlying liquidity is strong enough that larger investors should be able to get decent block execution. Securities lending income more than rebates REET’s already modest fee, though RWO also offers this perk.
