Emerging Market ETFs Take Off

After selling off in 2011’s second half in connection with fears related to Europe’s debt crisis, emerging markets have started 2012 strong, according to an article on Investor Place.

The iShares MSCI Taiwan Index Fund (NYSEArca: EWT) is up 8.28 percent, and the iShares MSCI South Africa Index ETF (NYSEArca: EZA) is up 8.36 percent, according to Investor Place.

Some funds currently have year-to-date gains in the double digits, the report said.

Big winners in 2012 include the iShares MSCI Brazil Index Fund (NYSEArca: EWZ) and the WisdomTree India Earnings ETF (NYSEArca: EPI), which are up 15.63 and 23.59 percent, respectively, so far this year, according to the report.
