Believe it or not, stocks perform better during the period between the Fed’s last rate hike and its first rate cut than the period after rates begin falling. That’s one of the key takeaways from BlackRock’s 2024 Year Ahead Outlook.

That report, which was authored by Gargi Pal Chaudhuri, Head of iShares Investment Strategy Americas at BlackRock, is chock full of interesting investments insights.

How should investors position their fixed income portfolios? Why should investors start to shift away from money market funds? What areas of the stock market are poised to perform best in 2024? Those are just a few of the questions that Chaudhuri and her colleagues address in the report.
