Year-to-date net inflows for all ETFs now stand at $521.3 billion as of Aug. 23. The [**Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ)**](/qqq) topped the flows charts last week, pulling in $4.5 billion. The Nasdaq 100 climbed to within 5% of its all-time highs last week, recovering from a sell-off that took the tech-heavy ETF down by more than 13%. Meanwhile, the [**iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV)**](/ivv) took the No. 3 spot on the weekly inflows list, with a haul just short of $1 billion. The S&P 500 got within half a percent of its record high on Friday. ## Small Cap Surge Sandwiched between QQQ and IVV on the weekly flows list was the [**iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM)**](/iwm), which had inflows of $1.4 billion. The small cap ETF surged 3% on Friday after Fed Chair Jerome Powell strongly suggested that the U.S. central bank would begin cutting interest rates in September. Investors reasoned that small cap stocks would benefit disproportionately compared to large cap stocks from lower rates. That same narrative sparked a rotation from big to small stocks several weeks ago, but the outperformance in small caps didn’t stick. Perhaps it will this time around.
