# ETFs Pull in $119.3B in August, Highest Monthly Total of 2025

Investors put $119.3 billion to work in U.S.-listed ETFs in August, the biggest monthly haul of the year so far and just ahead of July’s $115.9 billion, according to the latest data from FactSet.   
  
Year-to-date inflows surged to $792.6 billion, keeping inflows on pace to cross $1 trillion for the second straight year.  
  
U.S. equity ETFs led the way with $46.5 billion in inflows, followed closely by U.S. fixed income ETFs at $40.2 billion. International equity ETFs brought in $17 billion, while international fixed income products added $8.3 billion.  
  
The equity flows came as U.S. stocks hit record highs during the month. The [**Vanguard S&amp;P 500 ETF (VOO)**](/voo) extended its year-to-date gains to as much as 11.4% and topped the leaderboard with $9.2 billion of August inflows, bringing its 2025 total to $81.8 billion.   
  
Another S&amp;P 500 fund, the [**iShares Core S&amp;P 500 ETF (IVV)**](/ivv), followed in second place with $7.9 billion.

## Standouts in Bonds &amp; Alternatives

Bond ETFs drew heavy interest during the month. The [**Vanguard Short-Term Corporate Bond ETF (VCSH)**](/vcsh) and the [**iShares 0-3 Month Treasury Bond ETF (SGOV)**](/sgov) were among the biggest winners.   
  
Short-term bonds rallied after Fed Chair Jerome Powell hinted that a September rate cut could be on the table, while investment grade spreads narrowed to their tightest levels in 27 years. The [**iShares iBoxx $ Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD)**](/lqd) pulled in nearly $3 billion.  
  
On the alternatives side, the [**SPDR Gold Shares (GLD)**](/gld) saw $2.6 billion of inflows as gold flirted with record highs near $3,500. The attempted firing of Fed Governor Lisa Cook by President Trump added to safe-haven demand.  
  
Meanwhile, the [**iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA)**](/etha) benefited from Ethereum’s first new all-time high in four years. Investors added $3.4 billion to the fund during the month.
