Four brand-new ETFs rolled out during the week, including the third ETF targeting electric vehicles, a leveraged robotics fund and two active bond ETFs. Meanwhile, First Trust converted an AlphaDex fund into an India fund and EventShares rethought its lineup.

Below is a roundup of launches and other events in the ETF space during the week of April 16, 2018:

**Launches**

- A [third electric vehicle ETF](https://www.etf.com/sections/daily-etf-watch/global-x-debuts-electric-car-etf) debuted from Global X
- Hartford Funds launched an active [“tax-aware” fixed-income fund](https://www.etf.com/sections/daily-etf-watch/tax-aware-bond-etf-launches)
- Principal rolled out an actively managed [investment-grade corporate bond ETF](https://www.etf.com/sections/daily-etf-watch/active-corporate-bond-etf-debuts)
- Direxion unveiled a [leveraged complement](https://www.etf.com/sections/daily-etf-watch/leveraged-robotics-etf-launches) to a key robotics fund
- First Trust converted its Taiwan AlphaDex ETF into an [equal-weighted India fund](https://www.etf.com/sections/daily-etf-watch/first-trust-revamps-alphadex-etf)

**Closures**

- EventShares will [close two of its policy funds](https://www.etf.com/sections/daily-etf-watch/eventshares-renovates-etf-lineup), and broadens focus of the third
- Elkhorn Investments [finalized the closure of its two commodity funds](https://www.etf.com/sections/daily-etf-watch/elkhorn-etfs-close-change-names) in the wake of the failed deal with Veracen
