A downdraft in retail stocks and some overseas markets didn't stop investors from adding money to U.S.-listed exchange-traded funds this week. In aggregate, $2.6 billion came into ETFs in the week ending Thursday, May 12. Most segments saw net inflows, with the exception of international equity ETFs, which had net outflows of $2.9 billion.

Leading the way were U.S. equity ETFs, which had a net inflow of $2.6 billion thanks largely to the $1.2 billion in creations for the [SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY | A-97)](https://www.etf.com/SPY), and the $929 million in creations for the [PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ | A-67)](https://www.etf.com/QQQ).

At the same time, gold remained in fashion this week, as the [SPDR Gold Trust (GLD | A-100)](https://www.etf.com/GLD) picked up $646 million in inflows, while the [VanEck Vecors God Miners ETF (GDX | C-76)](https://www.etf.com/GDX) picked up $438 million of its own.

On the fixed-income side, the [iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (AGG | A-98)](https://www.etf.com/AGG) was the biggest winner, with inflows of nearly $400 million.

Meanwhile, as mentioned above, international equity ETFs were the big losers of the week. The [iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (EEM | B-100)](https://www.etf.com/EEM) topped the outflows list, with redemptions of $933 million. That was followed by the [iShares MSCI Eurozone ETF (EZU | A-84)](https://www.etf.com/EZU) and the [iShares MSCI Japan ETF (EWJ | B-95)](https://www.etf.com/EWJ) with outflows of $709 million and $588 million, respectively.

Another notable loser was the [iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG | B-68)](https://www.etf.com/HYG), with outflows of $435 million.
