A relatively calm week in financial markets encouraged investors to add a solid $8.5 billion to U.S.-listed ETFs this week. According to FactSet, $6.2 billion went into U.S. equity ETFs and $2.2 billion went into U.S. fixed-income ETFs during the week ending Thursday, May 24.

Year-to-date inflows for all U.S.-listed ETFs now stand at $117 billion.

Equity markets didn’t do much this week. The S&P 500 edged up from a closing level of 2,713 last Friday to last trade at 2,719.

Bond markets saw a bit more action, with the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield falling from last week’s high of 3.12% all the way down to 2.92% today amid political concerns related to North Korea and Italy.

**Rate Hikes?**

Meanwhile, minutes to the Federal Reserve’s last meeting suggested some Fed members would be would be OK with inflation temporarily moving above 2%—comments that somewhat dampened rate hike expectations.

Taking a look at inflows and outflows for individual ETFs, the [iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM)](https://www.etf.com/iwm) was the biggest winner of the week, with creations of $625 million, followed by the [SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA)](https://www.etf.com/dia) and the [iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV)](https://www.etf.com/ivv).

On the other hand, the [iShares MSCI EAFE Value ETF (EFV)](https://www.etf.com/efv) topped the outflows list, with weekly redemptions of $828 million. It was followed by the [iShares MSCI Japan ETF (EWJ)](https://www.etf.com/EWJ) and the [iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB)](https://www.etf.com/ibb).
