John Bogle is the founder of The Vanguard Group and president of the BogleFinancialMarketsResearchCenter. He created Vanguard in 1974 and had been associated with a predecessor company since 1951, following his graduation from PrincetonUniversity, magna cum laude in economics. The Vanguard Group comprises more than 100 mutual funds with assets totaling over $600 billion. Bogle founded the Vanguard 500, the first index mutual fund, in 1975.

John Haslem is Professor Emeritus of Finance at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park. He served the SmithSchool as founding academic affairs dean and as founding chair of the finance department. His mutual funds analysis course was the first offered in the finance curriculum of a collegiate school of business. Haslem has authored five books.
Matthew Hougan is a contributing editor of the Journal of Indexes, and a writer for both and the Exchange -Traded Funds Report . Prior to joining JoI, Hougan directed the internal communications effort at Genzyme Corporation, and worked as a biotech analyst and journalist for the award -winning financial Web site Hougan, a 1998 graduate of BowdoinCollege, lives on the coast of Maine with his wife and his dog.
Matthew Moran is vice president, business development, for the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). He had a leadership role in the development of the CBOE S&P 500 BuyWrite Index (BXM). Moran also has served as Trust Counsel at Harris Bank and as VP at the CME. He serves on the Advisory Board of the CAIA, the Review Board of the Journal of Indexes and the steering committee for the FIA Expo. He received a MBA and JD from the University of Illinois.
Scott Sacknoff is the managing director of the SPADE Defense Index and president of the ISBC, a consulting firm specializing in the defense and space industry. Since the early 1990s, his analysis and insight of the defense and space sector has been sought by government, industrial and financial executives. A former venture capitalist, Sacknoff is responsible for managing and promoting the Index and identifying licensing opportunities.
Steven Schoenfeld is the chief investment officer of Active Index Advisors (AIA), a San Francisco-based manager of customized enhanced index portfolios. He is the editor of the book, Active Index Investing, to be published by John Wiley & Sons. Schoenfeld is the founder of, and also is a senior research fellow at the DukeUniversityGlobalCapitalMarketsCenter. Prior to joining AIA, he was a managing director of Barclays Global Investors.
Jim Wiandt is the editor of the Journal of Indexes and publisher of both Exchange -Traded Funds Report (ETFR) and Wiandt was formerly publisher of and is author of Exchange Traded Funds, a book published by John Wiley & Sons. Prior to working in the publishing business, Wiandt served as an editor and writer for Compton's Encyclopedia, a freelance writer in West Africa, and an aide in the British Parliament.
Brad Zigler formerly served as head of marketing, education and re search for the Pacific Exchange and Barclays Global Investors. Zigler is a founding member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals Education Committee, and has contributed to, CBS Market Watch, Institutional Investor, Financial Planning, CRB Trader, Mutual Funds and Registered Rep.
