NYSE Begins Trading 27 Additional AMEX-Listed ETFs.
The New York Stock Exchange has begun trading 27 exchange-traded funds currently listed on the American Stock Exchange. The moved signals the NYSE's seriousness about entering the ETF market with both feet. The exchange has also announced plans to launch an array of NYSE-listed ETFs in coming months and has created its own indexes intended as the basis for future ETFs. The NYSE had already been trading the most popular ETFs, including the QQQs, Diamonds and SPDRs. Those ETFs were allocated to specialists Spear, Leeds & Kellogg (QQQ) and Bear Hunter (SPY and DIA). Following is a list of the new ETFs that now enjoy unlisted trading privileges on the NYSE.
