Yes, we are GENIUSES to call the market top. You me and our real resident wizard Bobo the Dart-Throwing Monkey should open that hedge fund.
It was only a matter of time until a real dive happened...now the question is for how long. A week or two, a year or two (like the last one) or a decade or two (like the 70's)? It seems odd that something so fundamental as investing for your retirement should be so volatile and unpredictable. But it is.
On commodities not dropping as much, of course short-term that may not mean a lot. But that seems like an obvious area for correlations to start to break up. Gold at least should run against a market crash, right? And commodities in general have held up will in downward markets historically. So I would expect THAT, unless the economy itself really goes into the crapper.
We should be in for some fun over the next couple of years, that's for sure. And with so many things do for a fall, it will be interesting to see what falls...less.
