TLT Attracts $1 Billion as Investors Seek Safety
The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT) posted $1 billion of inflows. Here are the daily ETF fund flows for March 11, 2025.
The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT) pulled in $1 billion in fresh assets Monday as investors fled to safe havens amid recession fears, according to etf.com daily fund flows data. The Treasury exchange-traded fund gained favor while major indexes posted steep declines.
The Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) attracted $823.9 million despite the broad market selloff that sent the Dow tumbling nearly 900 points. The iShares Russell 1000 Growth ETF (IWF) added $584.8 million, while the Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) collected $497.9 million.
Meanwhile, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) experienced the largest outflows at $1 billion. High-yield bonds also faced selling pressure, with the iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) seeing outflows of $491.6 million. The Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth ETF (VONG) lost $451.5 million amid the tech-led selloff.
Overall, ETFs recorded net inflows of nearly $4 billion for the day. Fixed-income funds led with $1.6 billion in new assets, followed by U.S. equity funds with $1 billion. Commodities ETFs led outflows with $240.2 million as traders positioned for heightened volatility following President Trump's comments that he would not rule out a recession.
