Fidelity Grows Commission-Free ETF Platform
Financial services giant significantly expands offering, but still trails Vanguard’s platform size.
On Monday, Fidelity unveiled its expanded commission-free ETF lineup, which brings the total number of such funds on its platform to more than 500. The change was announced back in February.
Fidelity already offered commission-free trading on its own ETFs and on iShares products through a deal with BlackRock.
This most recent expansion of the platform adds nearly 150 ETFs from 11 different ETF issuers: American Century, First Trust, Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Invesco, Janus Henderson, John Hancock Investments, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Legg Mason Global Asset Management, PIMCO and State Street Global Advisors SPDR ETFs, according to the press release.

For comparison, Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade each currently offer more than 500 commission-free ETFs on their platforms. Vanguard remains the champion of the space, however, offering about 1,800 commission-free ETFs on its platform.
