NatGas Plunges After Failed Test Of Range Top; Outlook Unchanged As Deficit Holds Steady

The weather last week was slightly warmer than seasonal norms.

The Edison Electric Institute said that utilities generated 74,913 GWh in the week ending May 25, 4 percent below the same week a year ago.

 

 

Looking forward, the NOAA’s 6- to 10-day outlook calls for warmer-than-normal temperatures across the Midwest, Northeast and West Coast. However, the important Southern region is expected to see normal to cooler-than-normal temperatures in the period.

Meanwhile, the number of rigs drilling for natural gas in the U.S. was unchanged at 354 last week, still close to 18-year lows, according to Baker Hughes.
