Inflows into U.S.-listed ETFs were only modest this week, as the rally in stocks stalled with the S&P 500 around the 2,100 mark. In the week ending Thursday, April 21, total inflows were $1.1 billion.

Outflows of $913 million from U.S. equity ETFs were offset by inflows of $369 million into international equity ETFs and inflows of $1.4 billion into U.S. fixed-income ETFs.

VOO Tops Inflows

Amidst the lackluster interest in ETFs this week, not a single product registered an inflow greater than $400 million. The Vanguard S&P 500 (VOO | A-98) gained $365 million, while the iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (VXX | B-47) added $317 million.

Also in favor were the iShares MSCI USA Minimum Volatility ETF (USMV | A-73), with inflows of $262 million, and the iShares U.S. Preferred Stock ETF (PFF | B), with inflows of $231 million.

SPY & QQQ Top Outflows

On the outflows side, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY | A-98) was the biggest loser, with $1.4 billion coming out of the fund. That was closely followed by $1.2 billion in outflows for the PowerShares QQQ (QQQ | A-65).

Other notable names on the outflows list included the WisdomTree Europe Hedged Equity ETF (HEDJ | B-47), the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF (XOP | A-66) and the United States Oil Fund (USO | B-100).
