BATT Fund Description

BATT is an actively managed fund that invests global advanced battery material companies such as those that mine or produce lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, and graphite.

BATT Factset Analytics Insight

BATT invests in advanced battery materials and technology companies from developed and emerging markets. To qualify for inclusion, companies must generate at least 50% of their revenue from the mining, exploration, production, development, processing, or recycling of lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, or graphite. Alternatively, companies that hold 10% or more of the global market share for advanced battery materials and report their primary source of revenue as such are also eligible for inclusion. Companies are grouped according to the material to which they have the most exposure, with manganese, graphite, and recycling combined into a single group. Group weights are actively managed according to factors such as supply and demand of each battery material, expectations of demand growth, commodity price projections, likelihood of new supply discovery, and regulatory and geo-political risks. Although securities are generally equally weighted within their respective groups, the advisor maintains the ability to invest tactically based on fundamentals, inventory levels, ESG scores, and the discovery of new materials. BATT charges a high fee for investor access to the battery materials and technology.
