BBH
VanEck Vectors Biotech ETFBBH Fund Description
BBH tracks a market-cap-weighted index of the 25 largest biotech firms globally.
BBH Factset Analytics Insight
While the global biotech industry is heavily concentrated in the US, BBH is even more concentrated in a small portfolio of just 25 US-listed companies weighted by capitalization. It also has a flexible definition of biotech, with many of the firms it holds perhaps better classified as pharmaceuticals and medical equipment rather than pure biotech. Despite the fund's conversion to a 1940 Act open-ended structure, diversification requirements have scarcely made BBH a less top-heavy, concentrated fund, with much of its portfolio comprised of a handful of companies. Despite not looking much like the global market, it's a popular fund with investors. Its daily trading volume is high, and its underlying assets are highly liquid. BBH's expense ratio is reasonable for the segment, though perhaps high for a fund that ultimately holds just 25 US-listed firms and ADRs, but tracking is undeniably close.
