ECH
iShares MSCI Chile ETFECH Fund Description
ECH tracks a market-cap-weighted index of Chilean firms that covers the entire market-cap spectrum.
ECH Factset Analytics Insight
ECH is the only ETF that exclusively tracks the Chilean market, and it does a great job capturing the space at a reasonable price. While the fund does try and enforce some diversification among its holdings via a capping methodology (all securities issuers who comprise more than 5% of the fund may not cumulatively comprise more than 50% of the fund overall), ECH is still a fairly concentrated fund, much like the market it's capturing. Utilities, financials, and consumer goods dominate this portfolio. Investors on the secondary market will find smaller spreads and good trading volume, but institutional investors should take note that the underlying portfolio is lacking in liquidity and anyone moving a creation unit will likely cause underlying prices to move as well. ECH's fee is average for single country funds, and tracking and fund management are strong enough that holding costs might be significantly lower than the expense ratio implies.
