EMCB Fund Description

EMCB is an actively managed ETF with a focus on investment- and non-investment-grade corporate debt of emerging-market countries. The fund manager may invest using derivatives.

EMCB Factset Analytics Insight

EMCB takes an active approach to the broad emerging-market corporate debt segment, holding USD-denominated bonds issued in Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The bulk of EMCB is concentrated in intermediate-term bonds with credit ratings between BBB and BB. Note, however, that its exposure is fluid thanks to its active structure, so investors looking for static exposure should look elsewhere. Frequent traders might want to consider doing the same: EMCB trades poorly and in small quantities, which imposes some high costs on entry and exit. The weak liquidity of the underlying assets also makes block trading a challenge. However, EMCB does charge a reasonable fee for an actively managed fund, though its ability to hold up to 20% of net assets in OTC derivatives adds additional risks that investors must weigh before buying.

EMCB MSCI ESG Analytics Insight

WisdomTree Emerging Markets Corporate Bond Fund has an MSCI ESG Fund Rating of BB based on a score of 3.36 out of 10. The MSCI ESG Fund Rating measures the resiliency of portfolios to long-term risks and opportunities arising from environmental, social, and governance factors. ESG Fund Ratings range from best (AAA) to worst (CCC). Highly rated funds consist of companies that tend to show strong and/or improving management of financially relevant environmental, social and governance issues. These companies may be more resilient to disruptions arising from ESG events.

The fund’s Peer Rank reflects the ranking of a fund’s MSCI ESG Fund Quality Score against the scores of other funds within the same peer group, as defined by the Thomson Reuters Lipper Global Classification. WisdomTree Emerging Markets Corporate Bond Fund ranks in the 8th percentile within its peer group and in the 64th percentile within the global universe of all funds covered by MSCI ESG Fund Ratings.
