ESEB Fund Description
ESEB tracks an index of emerging market USD-denominated sovereign debts, which selects and weights its securities based on ESG principles.
ESEB Factset Analytics Insight
ESEB is passively managed to invest in USD-denominated emerging markets sovereign bonds. Securities include both investment-grade and high-yield fixed, floating-rate, and capitalizing/amortizing bonds, while it excludes convertible and inflation-linked debts. ESEB includes bonds with broad maturities, with at least 1-2 years until maturity. The index considers the characteristics of its parent index, J.P. Morgan EMBI Global Diversified Sovereign Index, in selecting its constituents. Then, it applies an ESG score to each issuer and assigns them to a quintile based on that score. Issuers in the lowest quintile are removed, and the remainder are weighted based on which quintile they were scored. EMIH is rebalanced on a monthly basis. Prior to May 12, 2020, the fund is known as Xtrackers Emerging Markets Bond - Interest Rate Hedged ETF (EMIH) and followed the Solactive Emerging Markets Bond - Interest Rate Hedged Index.
