FLRT
Pacific Global Senior Loan ETFFLRT Fund Description
FLRT is an actively managed fund targeting floating-rate debt from non-investment-grade issuers.
FLRT Factset Analytics Insight
FLRT goal is to provide high current income from its portfolio of floating-rate bank loans and other floating-rate debt securities. The managers of the fund—Pacific Asset Management (not to be confused with PIMCO)—use a proprietary investment process to protect against the potential downside of investing in the low end of the credit spectrum. The process starts with a top-down macro assessment to decide on the appropriate level of risk, according to market conditions. The investment team then performs a bottom-up credit analysis to select individual securities within the defined investment universe. The focus is on the largest/most liquid issues in the space and those that offer the best relative value. FLRT is pricey to hold, even for active management. Weak investor interest translates to difficult trading while raising questions about the fund’s future. Prior to December 30, 2019 the fund was named AdvisorShares Pacific Asset Enhanced Floating Rate ETF.
