GRES Factset Analytics Insight
GRES tracks an index of natural resources stocks that are headquartered in developed markets. The largest companies from each of seven SICS sub-sectors are selected: 15 from Livestock, Timber, and Water companies and 40 from Industrial Metals, Energy, Grains, Food & Fiber, and Precious Metals. Using a tiered weighting approach, 30% is each allocated to Energy, Metals (Industrial and Precious) and Agricultural (Grains, Food & Fiber and Livestock) sectors. Timber and Water are both set at 5%. The sub-sectors under Metals and Agricultural are weighted using the pro-rata split based on market cap. The index is reconstituted annually and rebalanced quarterly. Prior to Sep. 1, 2021, the fund had additional exposure to the coal sector, employed an equity hedge overlay, used a momentum and valuation-based weighting scheme, and rebalanced monthly.
