GSIG Factset Analytics Insight
GSIG covers the short-term space of investment-grade corporate bond giving emphasis on their operating margin and leverage. Bonds that meet liquidity requirements are divided into three industry groups: financials, industrials, and utilities. Within each group, issuers are ranked by EBIT margin and Debt to EV, with equal weighting. The top 90% with high operating margin and low leverage are included while the bottom 10% are excluded. Selected stocks are duration adjusted, wherein holdings are divided into two maturity buckets and each tries to match the average effective duration of the parent index — FTSE US Broad Investment-Grade Corporate Index with average life less than 5 years. Holdings within each bucket are then assigned weights based on their market value, subject to issuer cap, 5% for those with fundamental factors and 3% for those without. The Index is rebalanced monthly for bond traits like duration and ratings and quarterly for its fundamental screen.
