IQDF Fund Description

IQDF tracks an index of non-US companies from developed and emerging markets selected by dividend payments and other fundamentals. The index aims for marketlike risk.

IQDF Factset Analytics Insight

IQDF aims to hold a basket of high-quality, dividend-paying firms with marketlike risk, and it largely succeeds in delivering higher yield for roughly equivalent risk to our benchmark. It accomplishes this by selecting from among the broader large-cap space those firms that meet certain targets for dividend yield and other fundamental factors, then constructing a portfolio from among eligible firms that provide similar risk to the broader large-cap market while providing greater-than-average yield. IQDF ends up with a midcap tilt and a host of small sector biases, but is nevertheless marketlike in its risk and exposure with markedly higher yield. IQDF is easily traded on a retail basis, with strong daily volume and narrow spreads. Larger investors should be able to get good execution with the help of a liquidity provider. Holding costs are a bit high here: IQDF charges an expensive fee for the large-cap space even considering its niche strategy, and tracking is spotty, meaning investors may realize markedly higher costs.
