ISRA Fund Description

ISRA tracks a cap-weighted, committee-reviewed index of Israeli and Israeli-linked companies.

ISRA Factset Analytics Insight

ISRA targets Israeli companies of all cap sizes, and attempts to compete head-to-head against the only other Israel-focused fund in the segment, iShares' EIS. While ISRA is cap-weighted, its selection process is unique. Securities are selected based on quantitative and qualitative factors to determine if securities qualify as 'Israeli' or 'Israeli-linked' and finalized by the BlueStar Index Advisory Committee. This explains the fund's exposure outside of Israel, including close to 30% to the US. Notably, any one security is capped at 12.5%. This greatly limits the fund's exposure to generic drug manufacturing giant Teva Pharmaceuticals, and causes ISRA to heavily underweight health care, for better or worse. The fund's 0.59% fee undercuts competitor EIS by 2 bps.

ISRA MSCI ESG Analytics Insight

VanEck Vectors Israel ETF has an MSCI ESG Fund Rating of BBB based on a score of 4.59 out of 10. The MSCI ESG Fund Rating measures the resiliency of portfolios to long-term risks and opportunities arising from environmental, social, and governance factors. ESG Fund Ratings range from best (AAA) to worst (CCC). Highly rated funds consist of companies that tend to show strong and/or improving management of financially relevant environmental, social and governance issues. These companies may be more resilient to disruptions arising from ESG events.

The fund’s Peer Rank reflects the ranking of a fund’s MSCI ESG Fund Quality Score against the scores of other funds within the same peer group, as defined by the Thomson Reuters Lipper Global Classification.
