JJU
iPath Series B Bloomberg Aluminum Subindex Total Return ETNJJU Fund Description
JJU tracks an index consisting of a single futures contract on aluminum, rolled every other month.
JJU Factset Analytics Insight
JJU tracks an index of aluminum futures that rolls into every other contract. Contracts are tracked starting two months from maturity and held until shortly before expiration. That differs from our segment benchmark, which follows a front-month strategy. JJU charges a reasonable fee despite being the only ETP tracking aluminum futures. JJU is an unsecured liability of the issuer, Barclays. JJU replaced an older ETN with the same ticker. The newer, “series B” note tracks the same index, but charges a lower fee and avoids path dependency issues that made its predecessor more expensive to hold over time. It also includes a call provision. The new version traded under the ticker JJUB until November 16, 2018.
