NGE Fund Description
NGE tracks a market-cap-weighted index of about 20 companies that are headquartered or listed in Nigeria and carry out the majority of their operations in Nigeria.
NGE Factset Analytics Insight
NGE is the first ETF to target Africa’s largest economy. Eligible companies include those that are classified in Nigeria in accordance to MSCI Global Investable Market Index Methodology. In addition, companies that are listed, headquartered, and carry out most of their operations in Nigeria are also eligible for index inclusion. The fund is a concentrated portfolio that intends to hold at least 20 constituents which are market-cap-weighted. To meet diversification requirements, holdings are capped at 25% weight and the aggregate weight of securities with over 5% allocation is capped at 50% weight of the portfolio. Index rebalancing occurs quarterly. Prior to August 14, 2014, the fund tracked the Solactive Nigeria Index.
NGE MSCI FaCS and Factor Box
MSCI FaCS is a standard method for evaluating and reporting the Factor characteristics of equity portfolios including ETFs. The Factor Box includes 6 Factors that MSCI has identified that historically provided a return premium. On the vertical axis, the Factor Groups, are displayed and the horizontal axis displays the Factor exposure, overweight, underweight or neutral.
