PFIG
Invesco Fundamental Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETFPFIG Fund Description
PFIG tracks an index of investment-grade corporate bonds available in US markets. Issues are selected and weighted using financial statement metrics.
PFIG Factset Analytics Insight
PFIG selects and weights its bonds using four bottom-up fundamental metrics: sales, dividends, cash flow and return on assets. The thesis is simple: Don’t buy debt simply because an issuer has a lot of it (as value-weighted funds do), buy it because the issuer is on sound footing. PFIG holds the highest concentration of US corporate debt in its segment, with 99% of its portfolio allocated to US companies. In comparison, most of the other funds in the segment—along with our benchmark—allocate around 80%. If you’re wary of foreign debt, PFIG may be the fund for you. It overweights longer-term bonds, which drives up its weighted average maturity and duration, but without increasing its yield to maturity. PFIG charges one of the higher expense ratios in the segment—22 bps—and volatile tracking and trading drive round-trip costs up to nearly 80bps.
