PXF Fund Description

PXF tracks a fundamentally weighted index of 1000 of the biggest companies in developed markets outside the US based on fundamental measures.

PXF Factset Analytics Insight

PXF applies a fundamentals-driven selection process to international equities in developed markets, using factors like cash flow, dividends, revenue, and book value of equity to screen for its portfolio. While some alternative-weighting methods yield funds that tilt small, PXF's approach ends up favoring larger firms and skimping on small-caps. PXF's portfolio is fairly broad, and avoids big sector bets, making PXF a modest departure from cap-weighting despite its approach. The fund trades well and spreads are manageable, though block trades are encumbered by a high creation fee. It expense ratio is in-line with other niche equity funds, and tracking is decent although you sometimes find major departures from the underlying Index. Still, with an interesting approach to its segment that doesn't take investors too far afield from a neutral position, PXF belongs on our Opportunities List.
