RDMX Factset Analytics Insight
RDMX provides broad exposure to the large- and mid-cap developed markets ex-US space utilizing an ESG overlay. The selection process begins with an exclusionary screen which removes companies involved in and/or derive significant revenue from: Extreme Event Controversies, Controversial Weapons, UN Global Compact Violations, Civilian Firearms, Thermal Coal Extraction, and Tobacco. Remaining securities are each assigned an R-Factor score, which is calculated based on two components: 1) the ESG component which seeks to identify ESG issues that are financially material to a firm, and 2) the corporate governance component which addresses topics such as shareholder rights, board independence, and executive compensation. The final selection and weighting is determined through a quantitative process designed to maximize the fund’s overall R-Factor score, thus, resulting in a portfolio that does not necessarily hold the highest-scored securities. The index rebalances quarterly.
