RYE
Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight Energy ETFRYE Fund Description
RYE tracks an equal-weight index of US energy companies in the S&P 500.
RYE Factset Analytics Insight
RYE offers a unique equal-weight play on the US energy segment. Although the fund selects from the S&P 500—what many view as a typical 'large-cap' index—equal weighting tilts the fund heavily toward midcaps. As a result, RYE has heavy industry tilts, underweighting the giant refiners that dominate our benchmark and ratcheting up exposure to smaller exploration & production companies (a category that includes many volatile fracking firms), which also ratchets up the fund's risk. The fund's Tradability is adequate if not amazing: plenty of shares trade hands daily but spreads are only manageable. Institutional investors have an easier time of it thanks to the massive liquidity of RYE's underlying basket. RYE charges a fairly high fee for its segment, but tracking tends to be tight, keeping holding costs under control.
