SDP Fund Description
SDP provides 2x leveraged inverse exposure to a market-cap-weighted index that measures the performance of large US utilities companies.
SDP Factset Analytics Insight
SDP aims to provide investors with the ability to make a short-term bearish bet on the Utilities sector. The fund provides 2x leveraged inverse exposure to the Dow Jones U.S. Utilities Index—a market-cap-weighted index of about 64 utilities firms based in the US as classified by S&P Dow Jones. The fund holds swaps and rebalances on a daily basis. As a result, compounding and path dependency make long-term returns difficult to predict when compared with the performance of its underlying index. Currently, however, the fund has under $5M in assets, with daily dollar volume is anemic. In short, SDP is designed to be a trading vehicle, but fails at providing adequate liquidity.
