SEA Fund Description

SEA tracks an index of global maritime shipping companies selected by dividend yield and weighted by market cap.

SEA Factset Analytics Insight

SEA is a hybrid: part industry-niche fund and part dividend fund. The hyper-specialized ETF focuses on global shipping firms (freight only—no passengers) and delivers a top-heavy basket of stocks that mirrors the market in this respect. SEA's top names are those seen on the sides of huge container vessels: Maersk, Cosco and the like. The fund changed course in June 2011 to follow the Dow Jones Global Shipping Index, which applies a high-dividend screen to maritime freight firms. The fund has delivered higher portfolio yield than our market-cap-selected global shipping benchmark lately.
