SOXX Fund Description

SOXX tracks a modified market-cap-weighted index of US-listed semiconductor companies.

SOXX Factset Analytics Insight

SOXX is a concentrated portfolio, providing capped exposure to 30 large- and midcap US-listed companies involved in the design, distribution, manufacture and sale of semiconductors. The semiconductor industry is heavily concentrated, thus, the fact that SOXX caps its individual security weights at 8% causes its portfolio to tilt toward smaller companies. It's also worth noting that SOXX has a slightly broader definition of the US semiconductors industry—its selection universe also includes foreign companies with ADR listings. These differences aside, SOXX provides a comprehensive sector exposure. The index is reconstituted annually and rebalanced on a quarterly basis.

SOXX MSCI ESG Analytics Insight

iShares PHLX Semiconductor ETF has an MSCI ESG Fund Rating of A based on a score of 6.89 out of 10. ESG Fund Ratings range from best (AAA) to worst (CCC). Highly rated funds consist of companies that tend to show strong and/or improving management of financially relevant environmental, social and governance issues. These companies may be more resilient to disruptions arising from ESG events.
