URTY Fund Description

URTY provides 3x leveraged exposure to a market-cap-weighted index of US small-cap companies.

URTY Factset Analytics Insight

As a levered product, URTY is not a buy-and-hold ETF; it's a short-term tactical instrument designed to provide 3x exposure to the Russell 2000 small-cap index only for one day. Over longer periods, returns can vary significantly from its promised exposure. When holding it beyond one day, remember that the greater the leverage, the greater the probability of deviations from intended exposure over multiday periods. URTY's underlying exposure, the Russell 2000, is composed primarily of small-caps, but also drifts into midcaps and heavily into micro-caps. There's nothing especially notable about its exposure, which is as broad as can be for a small-cap index. As a short-term product, trading costs should be examined carefully, rather than URTY's expense ratio, which is high but typical for a leveraged fund. URTY sees strong daily volume, and traders will find small spreads keep transaction costs low.
