UYG Fund Description
UYG provides 2x leveraged exposure to a market-cap-weighted index of US financial services companies.
UYG Factset Analytics Insight
UYG provides 2x leveraged exposure to the Dow Jones U.S. Financials Index—a total-market, cap-weighted index of US financial firms as classified by Dow Jones. The fund’s fee is expensive relative to the broad landscape of ETFs; however, UYG is not designed to be a long-term investment vehicle, so holding costs are a lesser concern. The fund rebalances daily. As a result, compounding and path dependency make its long-term returns difficult to predict when compared with its underlying index. Despite this, UYG’s asset base is indicative of strong investor interest, while its strong trading volume provides ample liquidity for small and large investors alike.
