YCSProShares UltraShort Yen
YCS Fund Description
YCS provides a 2x inverse multiple to the daily performance of the yen spot price against the US dollar as measured by Reuters.
YCS Factset Analytics Insight
YCS offers 2x leveraged inverse exposure to the yen-dollar cross, providing big gains when the yen falls against the dollar. The fund is pricey compared with most ETFs, but consider that YCS is designed to be a short-term product. The fund rebalances daily. As a result, compounding and path dependency lead to a lack of predictability in the fund's long-term returns. Also, keep in mind the fund's NAV is calculated according to the 4 pm ET JPY/USD cross as published in the Wall Street Journal—something that can differ slightly from other quotes. However, it's clear that YCS is a favorite among investors. Assets are strong. Bid/ask spreads are tight and medium daily dollar volume is healthy.
