ZGEN Factset Analytics Insight
ZGEN actively selects 50 stocks perceived to be relevant to Generation Z (the age cohort born from 1997 to the early 2010s). The fund selects companies listed on US stock exchanges, including foreign securities through ADRs. A company’s relevance to Gen Z is based on four metrics—use & utility, values, innovation, and disruptive alignment—that are aggregated to derive a Gen Z score. The Gen Z scores of the highest-ranked companies are analyzed based on subjective analysis and may be adjusted. Stocks ranked in the top 50 may be excluded due to material financial, reputational, legal, or regulatory issues. Weightings are based on a company’s Gen Z score. The sub-adviser generally makes recommendations to reallocate the fund’s portfolio on a monthly basis. As an actively managed fund, the portfolio managers can analyze market and financial data to make buy, sell, and hold decisions at their discretion.
