VGMS Wins Best New International Fixed Income ETF Award
Equities weren't the only thing investors had their attention on last year when looking internationally for opportunities. International bonds also benefit when diversifying globally, and the winner of the Best New International Fixed Income ETF, the Vanguard Multi-Sector Income Bond ETF (VGMS), appears well positioned.

The Best New International Fixed Income ETF Award went to the Vanguard Multi-Sector Income Bond ETF (VGMS). VGMS is actively managed and offers broadly diversified bond exposure across U.S. Treasuries, corporate bonds, and emerging market bonds. The fund also invests across the credit quality spectrum and seeks to outperform through differentiated sector and duration exposures as well as its individual security selection capabilities.
Vanguard may be a bit later to the table with its active multi-sector global bond ETF, but it is sure to move the needle significantly with its nominal 30 basis point fee. Not only does the fund provide genuine bond diversification, but it brings Vanguard's expertise to bear in a strategy with management fees less than half of many of its competitors.
The firm's low cost approach to investing netted it several wins in this year's awards. Vanguard also took home Best New International Fixed Income ETF this year with the Vanguard Emerging Markets ex-China ETF (VEXC), as well as the Best New U.S. Equity ETF with the Vanguard Wellington US Value Active ETF (VUSV), a lower cost active approach to value investing. The Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) won ETF of the Year last year at the 2025 ETF.com awards.
