GLD Pulls in $1.9B Amid Gold's Record Run
The Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3x Shares (SOXL) has $244 million in outflows: Here are the daily ETF fund flows for Feb. 21, 2025.
The SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) pulled in $1.95 billion in new assets Friday, bringing its assets under management to $85.2 billion, according to etf.com daily fund flows data. This marked GLD's largest one-day inflow since January 2022 as gold prices traded near record highs.
Core S&P 500 ETFs also pulled in billions, with the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) and Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) attracting $1.56 billion and $1.17 billion respectively. The iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (AGG) added $663.5 million, while the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) saw inflows of $522.5 million.
On the outflows side, the SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA) experienced the largest outflows at $818.2 million, while the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) saw $735.9 million exit the fund. The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF (IGV) shed $379.7 million.
U.S. equity funds led asset class flows with $3.83 billion in new money, followed by U.S. fixed income with $2.02 billion. Commodity ETFs added $1.88 billion, boosted by gold's rally toward the $3,000 an ounce mark amid a weaker dollar and trade war concerns. The ETF industry recorded total net inflows of $7.43 billion for the day.
