The biggest creations were dominated by the major S&P 500 and Nasdaq-linked ETFs, with iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) seeing the largest inflows at over $3.1B, followed by SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), Invesco QQQ Trust Series I (QQQ), and Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO). Semiconductors and financials also stood out, with strong demand into thematic and sector exposure via VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) and Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF). Notably, a few niche and thematic ETFs saw outsized percentage AUM growth despite smaller absolute flows, including leveraged or income-oriented strategies like Main BuyWrite ETF (BUYW).

On the redemption side, selling was heavily concentrated in growth and thematic strategies, most prominently the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), which led all outflows by a wide margin, alongside its robotics-focused sibling ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ). Broader de-risking also showed up in gold, energy, and staples, with outflows from SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE), and Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP), while fixed income flows were mixed with both inflows and redemptions across Treasury and TIPS exposures such as Schwab US TIPS ETF (SCHP).

By asset class, U.S. equities overwhelmingly drove the tape, pulling in more than $8.6B in net inflows, followed by U.S. fixed income at over $1.1B. International equities and commodities saw mild outflows, indicating a continued preference for domestic risk assets over global diversification and alternatives. Overall, the data points to a market still anchored in core U.S. equity exposure, with selective interest in semiconductors and income/structured strategies, while high-volatility and thematic growth ETFs continue to see profit-taking and de-risking.
